I loved this book. It was a page turner. See doesn't even know it is her brother that she loves and wants very badly. I would love to read more about them and see what happens with them. I can read this all night long over and over again. When he finds out it is his sister he falls in love with I have no idea what he will do about it. Can't wait to read the next book about them too.

To Love A Chi Town Gangsta edition by J'Diorr Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Let me start off by saying that I REALLY, REALLY wanted to like this book. I stopped and started this book several times and finally decided tonight to sit down and give it a real chance determined to read it completely through. There were some positives but the entire structure of this book was COMPLETELY OFF(by this I in no means am talking about formatting or anything of that nature) I'm talking purely about the logistics of the book itself and the myriad of inconsistencies that were prevalent from beginning to end. The book begins with Teyana living with her mother and her mother leaves to go on a vacation with her boyfriend. Unfortunately, during their vacation Teyana is raped by her ex-boyfriend and basically left for dead. She awakens only to be hit with the news that her mother and her boyfriend were killed in a bungee jumping accident. Upon this revelation, her estranged father returns to help her cope with the loss of her mother. He has this big secret to tell about having another child with the lady he left his family for, Heather. Then the book becomes even more confusing when Teyanna has to leave her home I'm assuming although her mother made a way for her, her entire life there were no provisions made for her in the event of her death. The father dies about a month after the mother of cancer. This isn't such a huge issue for me but the fact that at the sudden death of her father who was a big-time lawyer(and later we find out also had ties to the cartel) there were still no provisions for Teyanna. Okay fast forward and Teyanna moves to Chicago where she is from and goes to stay with an Aunt who obviously hates her which is depicted by the events during her father's funeral. She had a relationship with her best friend and her friend's mother but chose to go and stay with someone that she knew deep down didn't have her best interest at heart. Again not a huge issue and it's the author's prerogative how she wants to shape the story. What get's me is this girl who had never been involved with anything illegal just jumps up and decides that she will make drug runs for her Aunt's boyfriend. This boyfriend who is supposed to be a certified thug trusts this naive and "green" girl to do something like deliver his product and collect his money without anyone there to ensure her safety??? Not tracking for me. Not at all. Fast forward and we see Teyanna kidnapped, raped, and hooked on drugs against her will. Sad set of events and I can say that I felt the emotions through the words that the author used to convey this unfortunate scenario. I don't want to re-tell the entire story I will just say from this point in the book on the inconsistencies and discrepancies began to pile up considerably. At the end of the day, it all boils down to the fact that while the characters are likable, Dominique, Teyanna, Kelsey, etc. the story line just jumps ALL over the place. The timeline of the story isn't consistent, the characters that are introduced don't line up with the explanation that is given for their presence. I'm not quite sure why NONE of these issues were caught prior to going to print but this is a huge issue that wouldn't have been overlooked if a second read through had been done. I am the first to say that I would NEVER want to just dash someone's hopes about following their dreams. During the emotional scenes as I stated previously, I could actually feel the emotions that the author was attempting to convey. This in itself lets me know that Ms. J'Diorr has the skill-set to be a successful writer. This book, unfortunately, in my opinion, does not depict the caliber of work that I'm sure that Ms. J'Diorr has the capability to produce. This doesn't mean that I'm giving up on this author but this book just didn't do it for me.
OMG!!!!!!. Im speechless after the end. And there are no words to describe the ANTICIPATION for part two. In the beginning I felt so bad for Tee. And I had tears in my eyes for her. Seemed like every time she seemed to get a break life threw another curveball. But she REMEMBERED that number thooo. Lmtaooo but it's a prime example of you can't trust everybody. No matter who they are. Ppl will smile in yo face then try to take u out. Skeltons are falling out. This book was definitely worth the read. I read it Ina few hours page turner.
The good and bad; this one started off with waaaay too much going on with Teyanna but it was a ton of action. The whole Power grab was too much with the Omar, laundromats and vitamin water, so many other things to incorporate especially when you give name references it comes off as a steal. The ending was great but it’s hard to understand because so much time was spent wasted on Teyanna when she really wasn’t the main character.

We spent half the book thinking about incest and it seemed confirmed at the end but I was so hoping against it. What happened with Rashaad? The timeline was all jacked up no matter what the book started with 10 months prior but the dates stopped like the author was going to get away with that. Teyanna should’ve been pregnant the entire book by Carlos for that to make sense. She was knocked up and giving birth within a couple chapters was a bad look as well.

Still not sure how they made it out and she wakes up with just a scar and him being out cold for at the very least her entire pregnancy. If you're going to give dates…and times at least make it work. Hopefully, the next one is just as good as this one with less of the same, her getting drugged and raped, that’s been played out.
I rate this book a 5 because it was very insightful and heartbreaking I wanted to cry for TeeTee because of everything she was going through after being rape and then losing her mother it broke my heart to see her go through all that pain but what got me is that her father not being honest and telling her what was going on and made everybody think he was dead including his own daughter after she done lost the only person that really loved her (Her Mother)... Then to turn around and fall in love and have a baby with her own brother I know when part 2 comes out she is going to go even more krazy once she find out who her brother really is and I wouldn't blame her if she finally snap again but no matter what her bestfriend stayed by her side.. Love the book
This book was everything!!!!! I can't wait for part 2.
Ok.... I agree wit another reader! It's hella confusing! To me this book was all over the place ( the beginning seemed dragged out and the end seemed to jump time ! In 2 was ,he had a attitude and they had a baby wth I found myself skipping chapters because I felt the urge to get to the point of there destination. Also.. the way the book started it seemed to not pick up back off were they was supposed to. I thought the way she was escaping, he was a abusive dude or something lol than what happen to her friend getting shot in front of the house?? It's just all over the place .I will read part 2 to try to put the pieces together but geez Louise! !
OMG this book was good I knew that Niqo twin was gonna try to be him but what really shock me is Nathan being alive and I feel bad for TeeTee she just can't catch a break. Overall this book is great
